Pulverised Resin is made from powdered colophonium resin and is for aquatint metal plate printing. The resin is extra fine, pure and light.
When aquatint printing, resin is applied to the plate ahead of heating in an aquatint box.
Depending on the type of aquatint box you are using, you will need to use between two and five kg or pulverised resin.
Colophonium melts under temperatures between 90 and 110°C. It is soluble in alcohol.

Under andra halvan av 1800-talet utvecklade sig konstgrafik till en fullskalig rörelse, och konstnärer etablerade begreppet ”målare-grafiker”. Rörelsens centrum, Paris, fick en ny kemist, François Charbonnel, som öppnade en butik nära Ecole des Beaux-Arts och Louvren. Han sålde egna formuleringar av färger och grunder, vilket gjorde hans butik till en mötesplats för tidens ledande konstnärer. Charbonnel förbättrade kontinuerligt sina produkter genom att ta till sig feedback och inkorporera kemiska framsteg.
